Development and finance
An energy project gets financed when it is well developed
Banks and funds do not finance a plant. They finance an energy contract, permits, construction with a single accountable party and operations that sustain the payments. GIS Power develops each of those pieces and brings them together in a project company that can be financed.
What GIS Power does in development
The work that comes before groundbreakingA generation project spends years in development before it is built: the site is secured, demand is defined, permits and interconnection are processed, the energy contract is negotiated with the offtaker, and the company that will own the plant is structured.
GIS Power does that work and documents it the way a lender expects. We then design and build the plant under a single EPC party and operate it with contractual availability for the life of the contract.
Our core offering is solar with battery storage (BESS) as primary power. Cogeneration comes in where there is thermal demand.
When it is not a fit
- If your company prefers to buy the plant with its own funds and run it itself: a design-and-build contract is enough.
- If no offtaker is willing to sign a long-term energy contract: without that contract, the project is not financeable.
- If you need power within weeks: development takes longer, and the conversation starts with bridge power.

Debt is repaid from the energy contract's cash flows, not from the offtaker's balance sheet.

Frequently asked questions
Does my company have to invest?
Not necessarily. Under PPA, energy as a service and BOOT, the project company invests and your company pays for the energy or the service. If you prefer to own the plant from day one, that works too.
What does GIS Power need to assess a project?
Location, demand (consumption and profile), how long you expect to stay at the site and, if available, details of your current grid connection.
How long is an energy contract?
From 48 to 180 months, depending on the model and the project.
